Warning: This article on my blog may be triggering.  My intent is not to re-traumatize anyone by retelling the stories we’ve heard on the news, from others or social media.  The purpose of this blog is to hold a safe digital space or footprint for future sustainable dialogues as is our goal at Black Family Business and encourage self-discovery for your soulful healing journey.

How do you hold space for all the recent events going on in the world?

Mass shootings.

Natural disasters.

Reflection.

Feeling.

Healing.

I choose to hold solidarity with my fellow humanity.

I am not numb but I choose to disconnect and privately reflect.

My job is to protect my two Black sons and I am a single mother.

That’s all I can do when things seem dismayed and things dismantle.

Prayer.

Pranayamas.

Lots of deep breathing.

James 2:26 says “Faith without works is dead”

Are ready to do your emotional work, heal and live in harmony with others?

Perhaps you have faced many challenges in life and feel stuck, embarrassed, or ashamed to acknowledge them but deep down inside you want to be happy and free.

Release & Let Go: It’s Not Your Portion

“Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved” (Psalm 55:22).

Have you ever been all over the place helping and not caring for yourself?

When I finally realized I wanted to build my own empire shit kept on happening triggering my trauma and disrupting my wellbeing.  People, places and things…

God WHY did this happen to me?

That is the question I kept asking, dwelling on nonsense for too long.

A light bulb finally went off and I released my burdens to the Lord so I could move forward and start living again.

We take on these burdens.

Society and church communities sometimes encourage these behaviors of giving to pressure people to commit to something that may be an unwelcoming burden.

Clearly the lines are blurred and the meaning of Galatians 6:2 “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”

God first advices us to release our own burdens and heavy loads to Him before we can help anyone else.

Where You Come From

You are a woman who has taken risks before to help other people.

You have trusted yourself to lend your skills, talents and abilities when you needed help yourself.

You may even be brokenhearted, afraid to trust others again, or asking God WHY instead of HOW.

Your Divine Destination

But it’s no longer an option for you to hide your pain, live in the shadow of other people dreams or hide in the closet for fear of failing or being rejected.

When you release your pain and let God’s guide you according to His plan…

WOW!

You will Lead nations and empower generations.

“Sometimes you find that things you (misplaced), friends you thought you (lost), and opportunities you thought were (missed) really weren’t in the plan.  To lose is to gain and around the corner you (find) the blessings are abundant.  One thing I learned over the years: tis far better to say “NO” than to constantly forgive because everything that looks good is not good for you. Learn to say NO.  As often as necessary!”  From Exile to EMBRACE

The best instructions are so simple and clear.  From the ONE and ONLY, Christ:

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light” (Matthew 11:28–30)

“Even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you” (Isaiah 46:4)

Some conversations are best to start alone one-on-one with God.
